Schlabig Volunteers Participate In National Accounting For Kids® Day

Akron, OH, Nov. 18, 2008…Last week, several Schlabig employees participated in an annual “Accounting for Kids® Day,” an event that teaches children money management skills so they grow into smart consumers. The volunteers from Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, for the statewide 2008 Accounting for Kids® Day included Lori Conant, Deborah Petrone and Kate Williams.

Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, has participated in the event for the past seven years. Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, is a leading certified public accounting firm that offers strategic services for Ohio-based businesses and individuals.

Accounting for Kids Day is presented each November by members of The Ohio Society of CPAs and is reported to teach 10,000 Ohio elementary students how investing over the long term can pay big dividends. Petrone and Ziegler spent the day with 23 fifth-grade students at Carlin Elementary in Ravenna, while Conant visited 25 fifth-grade students at Copley-Fairlawn Middle School in Copley.

The Schlabig volunteers illustrated smart accounting sstrategies through an Accounting for Kids Day stock market game and showed a video, titled “Takin’ Care of Business,” highlighting different aspects of the CPA profession.
