Leslie Smeach Speaks At Local Forum, Addresses Employee Stock Ownership Plans

Akron, OH, July 14, 2008…Leslie Smeach, a partner at Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, recently spoke about employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) at the Ohio Employee Ownership ESOP and Administration Forum. Schlabig & Associates, Ltd is a leading certified public accounting firm offering strategic services for Ohio-based businesses and individuals.

Smeach, a certified public accountant, accredited in business valuation and certified valuation analyst, co-presented with Karen Crooks, board chairman, secretary/treasurer and ESOP trustee, at Jet Rubber in Rootstown, Ohio. Smeach addressed, “‘Who Does What’ in the Plan Year: Working with your Third-Party Administrator,” for the forum gathered at Kent State University, Kent.

“The coordinator of the ESOP forum – Karen Thomas – put together a great program,” Smeach said. “I would encourage other small businesses to use an ESOP ownership plan if appropriate.”

Smeach, who has been with Schlabig & Associates, Ltd, since 1990, provides tax planning and consulting, management consulting, and accounting and auditing-related services to the area’s businesses and non-profit organizations. He is based in the firm’s Kent office.

Smeach is a graduate of Kent State University. He lives in Rootstown with his wife, Susan.
