Schlabig Associates Help Feed & Educate Greater Akron Region
Akron, Ohio, Thurs., Nov. 3, 2011...A team from Schlabig & Associates, Ltd returned to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank on Wednesday to help sort, inspect and repackage food donations for the third consecutive year. Schlabig team members who recently participated include Amy Borell, Sharon Sledzik, Betsy McIntyre, Donna Wutrick, Kate Williams and Jennifer Schumacher.
"Our firm was built on an intense local focus," said Tom Hager, managing partner. "Giving back to the community is one of the many ways we show that focus."
Schlabig team members also will be participating in the Ohio Society of CPAs FETCH! program on Nov. 9. On that day, CPAs from all over Ohio will visit fifth and sixth grade classrooms to teach children about the basics of financial literacy and the importance of budgeting, saving and spending.
Schlabig associates have a long history of community outreach. In addition to helping out at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, past community service has included participating in local tax hotlines, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, participating in National Accounting for Kids Day and reading to children at Akron Public Schools.
